ADVANCED LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES’
SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM
Keen to further reduce our carbon footprint and increase our commitment to sustainability, Advanced Lighting Technologies (ADLT) have installed a large solar energy system at our Australasian head office. With a total capacity of 60kW, the grid-connected system features over 200 solar panels and took more than a week to install, test and commission.
Feeding into 3 inverters, the system was designed to generate most of the electricity used throughout the building during operational hours, while battery storage can be added in future to further reduce our reliance on grid power.
“Being a business that typically only operates during daylight hours, the installation made perfect sense” says Advanced Lighting Technologies CEO Richard Langdon.
The solar power solution is the latest in a string of energy-efficient upgrades completed at ADLT’s Wantirna South HQ. LED lighting has been installed, and the building’s ageing air conditioning system was replaced with a modern Variable Refrigerant Volume HVAC system, resulting in a 50% reduction in electricity costs almost immediately.“As a supplier of energy efficient lighting technology, we’re keenly aware of the need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our practical LED lighting solutions are designed to maximise efficiency while reducing energy consumption” Mr Langdon said.
”We feel it’s our duty as a responsible corporate citizen to ensure we’re not just ‘talking the talk’ but are actively investing in sustainable practices wherever we can”.
