Advanced Lighting Technologies (ADLT) recently played an integral role in providing an updated lighting solution for Brisbane’s biggest city park, the City Botanic Gardens.
Located in Gardens Point and bordered by the Brisbane River, the Gardens are the premier public and recreational space in Brisbane. Advanced Lighting Technologies (ADLT) was engaged to help illuminate the Gardens, making it safer to walk through at night while reducing both energy consumption and maintenance costs.
ADLT’s design also needed to maintain the Garden’s heritage appearance. This was achieved using the Cree Edge Series LED luminaire, coupled with a custom pole specifically designed to match the fitting. Backed by a 10 year warranty, the Cree Edge Series is ideal for illuminating any open-space application including footpaths and parks. It has been installed in many public spaces around Australia.
Using a mixture of 3.5 and 7.5m poles, the luminaires were carefully positioned alongside existing mature trees located within the Gardens. All pathways had to be lit in accordance with AS/NZS 1158 (category P3). ADLT worked closely with the winning contractor to ensure the entire project from concept to installation ran smoothly. As a result, ADLT has since supplied lighting to another 2 parks nearby.
